SOUTH PIERCE FIRE AND RESCUE

VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS

SPFR provides Fire and EMS to a 138 square mile district with a population of approximately 22,000 in Roy, Lacamas, Harts Lake, McKenna, and unincorporated Eatonville area of Washington state. Volunteer firefighters serve alongside career firefighters as members of engine companies or medic/aid units.

SHIFT VOLUNTEERS
may reside anywhere in the area and are assigned one of three rotating shifts. These volunteers choose 36 hours of required duty time per month to work their shifts at one of our four fire stations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • 18 Years of age by time of hire
  • Acceptable driving record/Clean criminal background check
  • Good physical condition 
TRADITIONAL VOLUNTEERS reside within the Fire District and respond from home to an assigned fire station for alarms. These volunteers also participate in the Shift Volunteer Program and must choose 24 hours of required duty time per month to work their shifts at on of our fire stations.

  • Good physical condition
  • Reside withing South Pierce Fire District boundaries
