The South Pierce Fire and Rescue Support Service is comprised of conscientious and industrious citizens who voluntarily perform duties for the department beyond fire service and EMS calls

This organization was established to enable citizens and/or spouses of department members to contribute to, and participate in, a variety of district events.  Support Service members assist with community functions such as May Day, the Roy Rodeo Cowboy Breakfast, Lacamas Fair, the Halloween Haunted House, Santa Sits, and many more. Lawns are mowed, buildings are painted, and emergency vehicles are transported to the repair shop for service and chauffeured back to the fire station, etc.  Support Service members are encouraged to attend/observe drills and may participate in a ride-along on shift (when approved by the On-Duty Officer).

Our Support Services also performs an essential function of providing rehab for personnel who are fighting fires or on extended rescue/service calls.  Blood pressures are taken and monitored, meals are prepared and life sustaining fluids are supplied for rehydration.

Another crucial branch of Support Services is the Ham Radio group who provide communication support in the event of a high incident situation – for example, the Ice Storm of January 2012.

South Pierce Fire and Rescue Support Service members provide a vital service not only for the department but for the residents of the District and are recognized as a fundamental branch in the field of fire service.
