Letter from the Chief

A Letter to the Community:

Pierce County Fire District #17 has proudly served our citizens for over 62 years.  I am proud and honored to be called your Fire Chief.  On behalf of the dedicated men and women who help protect our community, I would like to extend a sincere thank you for your support to our department over the years.

We have seen tremendous growth in our community.  It is our mission to meet our ever increasing needs and provide the highest level of emergency service available.  We have a very dedicated group of individuals, who spend a considerable amount of time training and developing theirs skills, in order to efficiently and effectively handle the variety of calls that occur in our community.

My door is always open to the public.  We welcome and encourage visitors anytime.  Please feel welcome to stop by, introduce yourself, and let us know if there is anything we can do to help you during the unexpected time of a 911 emergency.  If there is any way that I can be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I have been a member of this community for over 56 years, and just like you, I want the very best service for my family and friends.

Very Sincerely,
Chief Vellias
